Sitts & Hill designed a replacement of the existing BNSF railroad crossing of C Street SW after a regulatory inspection determined that the track was out of gage. Sitts & Hill designed a precast concrete at-grade crossing to replace the deteriorated asphalt crossing built upon aged timber track structure. Design of the replacement was carried out in coordination with multiple stakeholders, including: Boeing; the City of Auburn; Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway; and King County Public Works.
